The Nine of Pentacles is having built something and being able to enjoy it. Independence, financial self-sufficiency, a life arranged to your own specification and answerable to nobody. In a reading it indicates earned comfort and the particular satisfaction of solitude that was chosen rather than defaulted into. Venus in Virgo is refinement and discernment, pleasure taken carefully. The hooded falcon is the key detail: a wild thing trained and held, which is what discipline over your own appetites eventually produces. The snail is the second, and it says the garden took considerably longer than it looks. She is alone in it, and the card does not treat that as a deficit. This is one of the few images in the deck of a person genuinely content by themselves.
