A Capricorn Sun builds its identity out of demonstrated competence. The self here is not asserted or expressed but earned, and the placement will generally not feel entitled to it until there is something to point at.
Saturn governs, and Saturn's business is limitation, time and consequence. This produces a Sun comfortable with a plan measured in decades and entirely willing to do unglamorous work for years before anything shows. It is a substantial structural advantage over placements that need faster feedback, and it is why Capricorn Suns tend to arrive somewhere solid while others are still explaining their potential.
The ambition is real and frequently misdescribed. This Sun is not primarily chasing status, though it may acquire a great deal. What it wants is to stand on ground it built itself and to be the person others rely on rather than the person relying. The dry humour that accompanies this is a genuine feature and is often where the placement is most visibly itself.
The sea-goat carries the part that gets missed: a climbing creature with origins in the depths. Most Capricorn Suns hold considerably more feeling than they display, and many were required to be responsible earlier than was reasonable, which is where the reserve comes from.
The difficulty is worth. Where identity depends on achievement, no quantity of it concludes the question, and this Sun can spend a life meeting targets while never arriving anywhere restful. The development available is not less ambition, which serves it well. It is locating a value in itself that does not require this quarter's evidence, and permitting rest before it has been earned.
The challenge
Worth measured entirely in output. Rest becomes threatening, need becomes shameful, and this Sun works through conditions that should have stopped it, largely because stopping raises a question it would rather not ask.
Integration
Take a day off with nothing productive in it and notice what the discomfort is actually saying. Also worth asking directly, in writing: is this the life I chose, or the correct one? The placement is superb at building to specification and rarely checks whose specification it was.
