Number as pattern and interpretive language
Numerology gives qualitative meanings to numbers and number patterns. Systems differ, so a useful reading names its method, shows its arithmetic, and treats the result as a lens rather than evidence of destiny.
Reduction and exception
Many modern systems add digits until one remains while retaining so-called master numbers such as 11, 22, and 33. That convention is not universal and should never be hidden from the calculation.
Numbers in tarot
Across the Minor Arcana, number offers one thread while suit, image, question, and position add others. A five may suggest disruption, but five cards do not say the same thing.
