The third house covers the immediate environment and everything in it: how you speak and write, how you learn, the neighbourhood you move through, short journeys, and the people you did not choose but grew up alongside, principally siblings.
Its subject is exchange at close range. Where the ninth house opposite concerns the large frameworks that make sense of experience, the third concerns the raw traffic of daily information: conversations, messages, the school you attended, the way you explain something to someone standing in front of you.
Early education belongs here, and the house frequently describes not academic capability but the experience of learning: whether it was pleasurable, whether questions were welcome, and what conclusions a person drew about their own intelligence before the age of twelve. Those conclusions are usually durable and rarely accurate.
Siblings are the traditional third-house relationship, and the house describes the dynamic more than the people: whether it was competitive, protective, distant or formative.
The sign on the cusp shapes the communicative style. Scorpio here says little and means all of it; Libra here softens everything and dislikes a blunt exchange.
