The eleventh house governs the people you choose and the future you are working toward: friendships, groups, professional networks, causes, and the long-range hopes that organise a life without ever quite being scheduled.
Its relationship with the fifth opposite is instructive. The fifth is personal creative expression; the eleventh is what happens when that expression joins something collective. The fifth is the individual, the eleventh is the movement, the scene, the team, the community.
Friendship here is distinct from partnership. Eleventh-house relationships are chosen rather than fated, tend to be organised around shared interest rather than intimacy, and can be enormously formative without ever becoming close in the seventh-house sense.
