The Sun is exalted in Aries, which means the business of becoming a person runs unusually cleanly here. There is no gap between wanting and acting, and very little between feeling and saying. Where other placements spend years working out what they actually want, an Aries Sun generally knows within seconds and finds everyone else's deliberation genuinely puzzling.
The project of this placement is the establishment of a separate self, and the mechanism is friction. Aries needs to meet resistance in order to feel that it is actually here rather than simply agreeing with the room, which is why this Sun tends to generate a certain amount of conflict even in circumstances that did not require any. It is not malice. It is a way of confirming its own outline.
The honesty is the most underrated feature. Aries Suns rarely manage impressions, hold grudges inefficiently, and say the unvarnished thing before considering whether it will land. What is on the surface is what is underneath, and once you stop expecting subtlety this is restful to be around.
The difficulty is duration rather than courage. Cardinal fire ignites brilliantly and has almost no interest in maintenance, so an Aries life frequently accumulates a trail of things begun with total conviction and abandoned the moment they became ordinary. Pick one unfinished thing and stay with it past the point of boredom, deliberately, as an exercise rather than a virtue. Also worth practising: leaving a gap between the reaction and the response. Not to suppress it, which never works here, but to find out whether it survives ten seconds.
